Show FIRST PRESBYTERIAN PASTOR IS DELAYED The Ecv. Dr. Davies May Not Arrive Hero Until Some Time Next February. A letter recently received from the Row Dr. Georgo IS. Davies of St. Paul, Minn, who is lo illl the pulpit of the First Presbyterian church In thiB city, gave tho information that there was some uncertainty" uncer-tainty" as to .when he would bo able to come to Salt Lake, but that it would certainly cer-tainly not be before January 1, 191-1. I Tho congregation in St. Paul over which the Rev. Dr. Davies presides s building a now church, which is not yet completed, Inasmuch as the building was promoted and begun under the administration adminis-tration of Dr. Davies, tho pastor is desirous de-sirous of remaining in St. Paul to complete com-plete his work and sec the building finished fin-ished before he shall come west. It Is even Jlkoly that he may not be able to take charge of tho First Presbyterian church hero until February 1, J 01-1. In the meantime, tho Rev. Dr. II. w. Rcherd, president of Westminster college, Is filling the pulpit at the First Presbyterian Presby-terian and will continue In that capacity until the arrival of Dr. Davies, whenever when-ever that may be. Tonight Dr. Hohcrd and the trustees of Westminster college will 'hold their first meeting since Mr. Rcherd took cliargo of the school. Some spoclal matters of business busi-ness In connection with the college will be considered. |
