Shortly before 8 o'clock, Pye, tho teammate team-mate of Walker, was forced to quit the race owing to knee trouble caused by a spill in tho early morning hours, and three hours later John Bedell decided to stop riding, leaving his partner. Corry, to team up with Walker, who had neon Pye's partner. This reduced tho field to sixteen teams and under tho rules of the contest Pyo and Walker were penalized one lap. In a sprint which was started by Granda and Moran, Kopsky and Keefo, aftor twelve minutes of furious riding, lost two laps, putting them a lap behind be-hind Pyo and Walker. Al 11:16 o'clock, Clarke.
