Tho whereabouts of Mabel Vera Moulton, 16 years old, ono of th two girls whose disappearance several days ago led to Instructions today to-day to tho police to search for them, Is known to her sister. Mrs. Isabella Pal-lodlno, Pal-lodlno, tho police learned tonight. Mrs. Palladlno refused to disclose her sister's hiding place, but declared that she was safe. Trouble at home, she said, wos the cause of her sinter's disappearance. No traco of Miss Jessie McCann, 23 years old. the social and church worker and daughter of Robert McCann. a wholesale whole-sale grocer, had been discovered up to a late hour tonight. ' Not since the disappearance of Dorothy Arnold, who will havo been missing three years on Friday, havo tho police been instructed to exert their every effort in a city-wide search. Miss McCann was a prominent member of the Epworth league and tho members of that society at tho Brooklyn church which sho attended began making inquiries in-quiries at placos where they thought she might have gone and appealed to all members of the society to Join in tho search. It became known tonight that Miss McCann was under treatment for a nervous trouble and her physician, Dr. Roger Durham, expressed tho opinion that her depressed condition was the cause of her disappearance. In tho hope that Miss McCann might read the newspapers, Mr. McCann asked that an appeal be printed generally asking her to return to her home and adding that her mother was prostrated and "will die If you don't como back soon." |
