New officers are, left to right: NewBPWOfficers Installed In Colorful Ceremony A beautiful morning breakfast at Sullivan's Cafe marked the Installation In-stallation ceremony of the new officers for the Cedar City Busi-ness Busi-ness and Professional Women's Club. The tables were colorful with spring flowers and the thirty thir-ty members and guests were gay dent, Mrs. Edna Sargent, presid-dent, presid-dent, Mrs. Edna Sargent, presl-ed presl-ed and gave a report on the year's club activities. Miss Shirley Shir-ley Maughan, chairman, and her ' Rudell Sudweeks, Catherine Chrichton, Edna Sargent, president; Sharlene Prince and Carla Hulet. committee members, Mrs. Annette An-nette Betenson, and Mrs, JElma Haycock, were in charge of arrangements ar-rangements and program. Entertainment wai by Miss Lyona Cox, who sang ' Oh! What a Beautiful Morning." Her accompanist accom-panist was Mrs. Shirley Jones. Treasurer, Sharlene Prince, gave her report for the year. Mrs. Sargent named eight members who are planning to attend the State Convention in Salt Lake City June 16th, 17th, and 18th. Mrs. Leta Cowley, Vice President Pres-ident of the State Federation, gave a very Interesting account of B. P. W. work and aims, after which she conducted installa tion ceremonies for the following elected officers for 1960-61: Mrs. Edna Sargent, President, Mrs. Catherine Chrichton, Vice President, Presi-dent, Mrs. Rudell Sudweeks, Corresponding Cor-responding Secretary, Miss Carla Hulet, Recording Secretary, and Miss Sharlene Prince, Treasurer. Miss Mamie Eck and Miss Ethel Smith sang the club song. . The meeting closed with the presentation of the President's pin to Mrs. Edna Sargent in recognition re-cognition of her past year's work. |
