Show Memorial Day Week End Lends Occasion For Holiday Visits to and from Parowan Mr. and Mrs. Charles Timmon of Layton and Mrs. Laura Para-more Para-more of Provo were visitors in Parowan on Saturday and Sunday Sun-day of this week. Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Bentley spent the Memorial Day holiday in Provo visiting with their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bentley. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Joseph en-Joyed en-Joyed a visit recently with their son and daught -in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Joseph in Mon-tebcllo, Mon-tebcllo, Calif., and other relatives rela-tives in that area. Incidentally we have Just learned that Kenneth Ken-neth has been serving as second counselor in the Montebello Ward Bishopric of the East Los Angeles An-geles Stake for the past four months. Coning from Salt Lake City to visit with relatives and friends over the Memorial Day week end were Mr. and Mrs. Ted Harman and Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Mitchell Mitch-ell and families. They visited at the home of Mrs. Olive Mitchell and with Mrs. Pearl Davenport Also visiting with Mrs. Davenport Daven-port are her son-in-law and j..,.ki m- mH Mr. Arthur Clark and family of Yerington, Nev. Gary Miller of Parowan. who has been attending the Taft, Calif., Junior College since the first of the year, arrived in Parowan Par-owan last Wednesday to spend the summer with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Miller, and to attend the summer camp of the 222rd Battalion of the Utah National Na-tional Guard, with which he is affiliated. Gary was accompanied accompan-ied to Parowan by his sister, Mrs. Dean Robinson and her baby girl, who came to visit relatives here and In Paragonah. She and her parents are spending a week in Salt Lake City visiting relatives rela-tives at the present time. Fulton Marshall of Tucson, Arizona arrived here last Tuesday Tues-day to Join his wife, Mrs. Ver-netta Ver-netta Page Marshall, who has been here with her mother, Mrs. John Page since March. The Marshall Mar-shall have a new baby boy, born at the Iron County Hospital on May 21. They plan to remain in Parowan for the summer. Mr. and Mrs. William Mitchell of Provo were visitors with relatives rela-tives In Parowan on Memorial Day. Mr. Mitchell Is a retired school teacher from the Provo City schools and is a native of Parowan. Gary Rollins and his girl friend, and Mrs. Gladys Wood and members of her family of Salt Lake City were visitors at the home of their father, Evan Rollins, over the Memorial Day holiday. Coming to Parowan from Lake-i'-w, Ore. the first of the week were Mrs. Clara Gray and Mrs. Hilda Pearce, to visit with their mother. Mrs. Martha Dalton. Mrs. Pearce brought her granddaughter, granddaugh-ter, Miss Marta Stubbs, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Stubbs, who are also former residents of this City. Mrs. Gray will return to her home later this week while Mrs. Pearce will remain here forj a month, with her mother, her son Norman Evans and family InParowan, and her son, Floyd Evans and family In Cedar City. Mr. and Mrs. Morris Johnson and members of their family of Layton, Utah, were week end visitors In Parowan with Mrs. Johnson's mother, Mrs. Luella R. Adams, and other members of the Adams family here. Mr. and Mrs. LaMon Macfar-lane Macfar-lane of Midvale and their daughter, Mrs. GayLynn Anderson, Ander-son, and new baby of Murray, . were visitors with the D. F. Mac-farlanes Mac-farlanes in Parowan on Memorial Mem-orial Day. Mr. and Mrs. Melvyn Jones and family of Salt Lake City arrived ar-rived here last Sunday to spend several days visiting with Mel's mother, Mrs. Gwen Jones in Paragonah Par-agonah and Mrs. Jones' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ward Mortensen, here. Mr. Jones also spent a day In the Cedar City office of Commercial Com-mercial Credit Company In connection con-nection with his work in the Salt Lake office of the company. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Mortensen and Mr. and Mrs. Milo Mortensen of Delta were In Parowan visiting visit-ing with friends on Memorial Day. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jess Mickelson during the past week were their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Mickelson and family of Salt Lake City, and their daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Virginia M. Cottam of St. Geo.-ge. |
