Show Enterprise Teacher Retires After 41 Years Heber M. Holt, who Is retiring from his position as an instructor instruc-tor in the Enterprise High School this spring, has spent half a century of dediacted service to church, school, community and home. As an accomplished music director, conscientious teacher and devout church man, he has influenced the lives of thousands of young people during his career. ca-reer. Mr. Holt married Erma Woods and the highlight of their lives include the rearing of a family He received his early education in the school in the little pioneer pio-neer town of Hebron, Utah; the later years of t.ade school were spent in Enterprise. He spent his high school and early college years at St George and Cedar City. Mr. Holt received his degree de-gree at the Brigham Young University Un-iversity and did post graduate work at the University of Utah, Utah State Agricultural College and the University of Southern California. His teaching career bean in 1919 in the Enterprise Elementary Elemen-tary hut he changed to high school work four years later and taught in the Lincoln County High School at Panaca, Nev. for four years. He later transfered back to the high school at Enterprise. En-terprise. Mr. Holt's teaching activities include the directing and presenting pre-senting of a dozen or more hiph quality operettas, the directing of the school bands and choruses, instructor of mathematics and history. Ho coached high school basketball for several years, two of his teams taUinrj second place in the Dixie division. He was principal of the Enterprise Schools for seven years. HOLT in church activities in 1916. Since that time he has held ! numerous positions including many years as chorister, teacher, YMM1A president, ten years in the bishopric, nine years as U-vada U-vada Stake High courcilman. five years in the Stake Presi- idency and at the present time is a member of the Stake High I Priest presidency. Besides spending 41 years in school work, his community services ser-vices include two terms as town j mayor and three terms on the town council. From the time he I was fifteen years of age up t. the present time he has been a member or a director of the En terprise dance band and string band. Mr. Holt's great loves are people peo-ple and music. It has te-n said that if him it may be told, "He jthat is greatest among you, shall 'be your servant." A program in his honor was hold Mondav.
