Show Midvalley4-HGirl Will Report To Youth Conference 'I 1 V .'! . j DARLA GARFIELD Darla Garfield, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Garfield of Mid-valley, Mid-valley, has been chosen as one of the 4 H delegates to attend the annual Utah State 4 II Youth Conference held in Logan the week of June 6, reports Mabel Merrcll, Iron County home agent. Darla has also been elected to take part In the speech contest which will be held in Logan where four district winners will be chosen to compete f?r final top honors at the State Fair next September. Darla 'as chosen for this honor hon-or on the basis r her 4-H record. She has been a 4 H member since 1954 and for the past year has also served as a junior leader lead-er with a boys' club of nine members called the Hungry Hobos. Ho-bos. She plans to carry on this aftivitv for annthnr voar rni-lA has also served as a leader in other 4-H activities at club camp as well as in the community. She feels that her activities in 4-H have helped her to prepare to be a better homemaker. Her mother had this to 'say, "I feel the well rounded 4-H program pro-gram really helps our young people peo-ple to be better citizens and learn to assume responsibility In furthering fur-thering projects in their club and in our community, truly making it a better place in which to live." |
