Show Demos Slate 1954 Dinner G. Mennen Williams, governor gover-nor of Michigan, will be the featured speaker at the annual Jefferson-Jackson Day dinner of the Democratic party of Utah, which will be held Friday, May 28, at 6:30 p.m. in the Lafayette i ball room, Hotel Utah, in Salt Lake City. 1 According to Elmer Yergen-sen, Yergen-sen, newly elected chairman of the Duchesne County Democratic Democrat-ic Central Committee, the annual an-nual dinner Friday will precede the state convention slated for the following day, Saturday, May 29, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Rainbow Randevu. Governor Williams is a native of Detroit where he was born Feb. 23,' 1911. He is a lawyer by profession, and is a graduate of Princeton. He began his career ca-reer as an attorney with the Social Security board in 1937, and in 1938 was assistant attorney attor-ney general for the state of Michigan. He is a veteran of World War II, holding the rank of Lieutenant J. G. and during his war service received 10 battle stars, the Legion of Merit with Combat V and three presidential pres-idential citations. Duchesne County is expected to be well represented at the dinner, Mr. Yergensen announced. |
