Show S County Elections To UoU Sway In fall Contests County offices to be filled by election this fall include that of four-year and two-year county commissioners, sheriff, clerk, recorder, assessor, treasurer, attorney, at-torney, precinct justice of the peace and constables. Incumbent officers are Floyd Case, Altamont, four-year commissioner, com-missioner, Democrat; Clinton J. Mickelson, Duchesne, two-year commissioner, Republican; Arzy 'H. Mitchell, Duchesne, sheriff, Democrat; Porter L. Merrell, Duchesne, clerk, Democrat; Dorothea Dor-othea W. Allred, Duchesne, recorder, re-corder, Republican; German B. Workman, Duchesne, assessor, Democrat; Florence Poulson, Duchesne, treasurer, Democrat; James R. Hall, Roosevelt, attorney, at-torney, Democrat. Incumbent justice of the peace officers are George H. Wilcken, Duchesne; John Baum-gaertel, Baum-gaertel, Roosevelt; Don- Nyberg, Altamont, and Ralph Smith, Tabiona. Frank Clark, Tabiona, and Tom Clark, Altamont, are the incumbent constables. All county offices except that of two-year commissioner are four-year terms. A surveyor may be elected, although that office is vacant in Duchesne County now. The office of state represeta-tive represeta-tive from Duchesne County, now held by William N. Broth-erson Broth-erson of Boneta, Republican, is to -be filled at the November election for a two-year term.' District Judges William Stanley Stan-ley Dunford and R. L. Tuckett of Provo are incumbent judges of the fourth judicial district, which is comprised of Duchesne, Uintah, Wasatch and Utah conuties. Tenure of office is for six years. . Of the group of incumbents, Mr. Workman is the only one to have officially announced he will be a candidate to succeed himself. However, it is anticipated antici-pated most of the office holders will aspire to' succeed them-j selves. |
