Show American Legion Sets Active Projects Ahead Officers of the Basin Post No. 64, American Legion, have announced an-nounced several activties are in the offing for the future. Annual An-nual Memorial Day services will be held on Monday, May 31 at the Roosevelt Cemetery, beginning at 11 a.m. with Ursel Allred, speech student at the University of Utah, who is a brother of Commander Clarence Allred of the local post, as the speaker. Appropriate salutes will be made by the post's fir ing squad. Eighteen to Boys' State According to Commander All-red, All-red, the local post will send eighteen high school boys to the annual Boys' State, held the first week in July at Camp Williams, Wil-liams, near Lehi. Local service and civic clubs have donated most of the fees for the boys, and upon their return will hear reports from the delegates. Names of the boys will be announced an-nounced later. Early next month the post is sponsoring Monte Young's rides and carnival here for several days. At the present time the post has a softball team playing in the city-church league. Any veteran vet-eran desiring to play ball with the Legion should make his wants known to Mr. Allred, or other officials. |
