Show CniDGELAfID Mr?. Shelby Lisonbee Mrs. Jane Murphy Has Pleasant Week Mrs. Jane Murphy, the oldest resident of the ward has been receiving many happy incidents in her life this year. Two' of her grandsons, Robert Murphy and Frank Meyer, Jr., left in Arjril to fill mission for -the Church if Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The second thrill i to come to her was when two I of her granddaughters, Maxine I Murphy and Mona Dee Liddell . graduated from high school with high honors from their respective school. The most recent occasion in Mrs. Murphy's happy events was the honor awards which were presented to two other grandchildren, when Douglas Murphy and Sarah Meyer were awarded the awards from the Myton school, having the highest high-est records in the six years they have attended. Sarah Meyer is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J Frank Meyer, Sr. and Douglas ' Murphy is the son of Mr. .and j Mrs. Ervin Murphy. . N 1 PRIMARY CONFERENCE Primary conference was held j Sunday evening in combination with Sacrament meeting. The theme of the conference was, "A Testimony Grows," with the Primary children presenting the program. Stake, Primary officers of-ficers visiting conference were: Mrs. Elaine , Farnsworth and Mrs. Koyne of Duchesne. Business of the conference was releasing the first counselor, counse-lor, Nelda Murphy and two teachers, Mrs.- Evelyn Murphy and Edna Shelton. Mrs. Senor Mortensen, Sr. and Mrs. Senor Mortensen, Jr., of Myton, visited Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Frank Meyer. Viola Shepherd, Delia Liddell, and Hazel Walters attended a special stake Relief Society program at Duchesne, Sunday. Ruth Walters is spending her vacation in Salt Lake City as a guest of her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Walters. A Preparation meeting for Primary was held Monday evening eve-ning at the home of Mrs. Jby-leen Jby-leen Clayburn. Two Of the retiring re-tiring teachers, Mrs. Evelyn Murphy and Mrs. Edna Shelton were honored at the meeting and given a gift in appreciation of their work. Mr. and Mrs. J. Alma Smith motored to Vernal Friday to meet their grandsons, Steven and Walter Smith, who arrived on the airplane to spend their vacation with their grandparents. grandpar-ents. They are the sons of Mr. and Mrs. Roe Smith, of Provo. Visitors of Mr. anfl Mrs. Carl Van Tassell and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Van Tassell over the week end were Mr. and Mrs. Jewell North, of Murray; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Cowley, of Sandy. They also' attended Sunday School, where Mr. and Mrs. North gave very interesting talks. Al White and Marvel Moore, of Duchesne, were Sunday School visitors. Mrs. Lawrence Young and children, of Altamont, spent Thursday visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alma Smith. |
