Show Guide Class Has First Parolaree Arrayed in their red and blue neckerchiefs, thirteen members mem-bers of the Guide Patrol gathered gather-ed at the chapel last Monday evening for their Parolaree. Sheldon Spencer acted as mas-1 mas-1 ter of ceremonies and introduced introduc-ed the boys who were to be advanced. ad-vanced. Gary Horrocks, Myron Duncan, David Duncan became Tenderfoot Scouts; Gordon Peterson, Pet-erson, Larry LaRose, Dan Larsen, Lar-sen, Cloyd Davis and Carnes Burson were advanced to Second Sec-ond Class. Talks were given by Neill Duncan and Dan Larsen; two skits by Gerald Wilkerson and Glen Spencer; Gary Horrocks Hor-rocks and David Duncan. A safety demonstration was conducted by Cloyd Davis and Lidell Dye. Jokes were read by Dennis Yack and a reading by Myron Duncan. A song was sung by the group, after which the Second Class Scouts were presented for entrance into the M.I.A. They were accepted by Supt. Ferris Henrie, after which Charles Crozier, of the Ward bishopric, made a few remarks. Taps were played by Kelly Crozier and Lauren Wardle, who were special guests, due to the nearness of their eleventh birthdays. At the close of the program, hamburgers, punch, and cake, which were furnished by the Primary officers and the teachers of the boys, were enjoyed en-joyed by the group and their parents. Climaxing the activities of kindergarten, the mothers were guests of their little ones last Wednesday. A brief , program was presented, after which refreshments re-freshments were served by the pupils. Mr. and Mrs. Deone Spencer were made happy last week by a visit from their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Jenkins. Mr. Jenkins was on furlough from the Navy base at San Diego, and Mrs. Jenkins was on vacation from her position posi-tion at the Hy-Land Dairy plant in Murray. ' Mrs. Arietta 'Williams. Duchesne Du-chesne county supervisor of the elementary grades, and Miss Stringham, primary supervisor of Uintah County, visited the school here last Wednesday. Gerald Henrie, who is attending- the U.S.A.C., spent the weekend here at his home. A friend, Roy Hill, accompanied him. Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Dye motored to Long Beach, Calif, last week and brought back Mrs. Dye's mother for a visit. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Harrison and Mr. and Mrs. William Beve-redge, Beve-redge, of Price, were Sunday guests at the Marion Harrison home. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Holmes and two daughters left last Friday Fri-day for a visit with relatives and friends in various parts of Oklahoma. |
