Show This Week's RECIPE . . . A refreshing and delicious dessert to' serve at your next party is the following "Gone With the Wind Pie," which Mrs. Robert Rosecrans makes frequently. Gone With The Wind Pie (makes one pie) 1 envelope clear gelatin, dissolved dis-solved in cup cold water wa-ter (to be added to custard mixture later) 2 eggs yolks beaten well V cup sugar Vi cup milk Mix well and cook in top of double boiler 15 minutes or until mixture begins to thicken slightly. Mix dissolved gelatin with hot custard and chill in refrigerator refrig-erator until partially set, stirring stir-ring occasionally. Whip 1 cup cream and add 1 teaspoon vanilla. Whip 2 egg whites until stiff, then add V cup sugar. Add whipped cream, to custard cus-tard and then fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. While custard is cooking-, make graham cracker crust as follows: 1 cup graham cracker crumbs 3 tbs. brown sugar 3 tbs. melted butter or mar-' mar-' garine. Add 1 tablespoon of butter at a time with the cracker crumbs. Place of the buttered crumbs in pie plate, linning sides and bottom . Pour custard cus-tard mixture in pie shell, and sprinkle top with remaining crumbs. |
