Show IVIIITEflOCKS Madeena Smith The 8th grade at Whiterocks school enjoyed a visit to the Union High School on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Marinus Chris-tensen Chris-tensen received word this week of a new grandson, born to Mr. and Mrs. Donnal Rasmussen, of Clearfield, Utah. FIELD DAY AT SCHOOL A show, "Little Men," was shown at the church house to the school children as part of their fieldday program. Races and games were enjoyed in the afternoon between rain storms. The Beehive girls and Boy Scouts sold cake and punch and popcorn at school on Friday. The proceeds will go toward their trip to Salt Lake in the near 'uture. FIRE SCHOOL A Forest Fire Prevention school was held in the gym at Whiterocks Friday. A large group of men from different parts of the country were in attendance. Mrs. Nora Christensen went to Clearfield on Saturday to visit her daughter and family, Mrs. Betty Rasmussen. Mrs. Elbert Smith made a business trip to Vernal Thursday. Thurs-day. The teachers, cooks and custodians cus-todians of the school attended the party for Supt. Lundel at Vernal on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Murray, Mur-ray, Ina Ellingford and Theron Robb were sustained as home missionaries at conference on Sunday. The George Walkup family has moved this weekend from the ranger station to their ranch, where they will make their home. The new ranger is expected here the first of June. DeVere Hancock. She came from Salt Lake City to' care for Mrs. DeVere Hancock and infant, in-fant, son. who recently returned from the Roosevelt Hospital. Visitors last week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Emery Nielson were Charles Bird on Wednesday and Mrs. Ora Hol-gate Hol-gate on Sunday, both of Arcad. ia. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hart visited Mr. and Mrs. James Dalgleish Monday. Mr. Hart was in poor health and was taken to Roosevelt Roose-velt for medical attention. Mr. and Mrs. Homer Robinson Robin-son will attend the commencement commence-ment exercises at Mt. Pleasant, leaving Thursday and returning Friday. Their daughter, Faye, will graduate from Wasatch Academy at that time. Mr. and Mrs. S. F. Mortensen Morten-sen and daughter, Mrs. Jack Nielson, left Tuesday for Ber-thoud, Ber-thoud, Colorado' to visit another anoth-er daughter, Mrs. P. R. Ward. Mr. Mortensen and Mrs. Nielson will return Friday, while Mrs. Mortensen will remain for a longer visit. Mrs. Ray Gill, of Salt Lake City, visited Friday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Emery Nielson. Lewis Reese Utah representative representa-tive of the National board of directors of the N.R.E.C.A. attended at-tended a meeting in Washington, Washing-ton, D. C. recently. Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Hrein-son Hrein-son and sons, Paul and Carl, of Castlegate were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Jones. Sunday they all accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Earl Dunsmore and family enoyed a trip to Swift Creek. Mr. and Mrs. Willard Smith and daughter, Darline, of Myton My-ton and Mrs. Betty Harrison and family of Roosevelt were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Smith. Mrs. Mary Carroll received a letter from her son, Pfc. Dale Carroll, advising them that he arrived in Korea May' 3. SEMINARY GRADUATES A large crowd from Altonah enoyed the Seminary graduation gradua-tion at Altamont May 16. Those graduating from Altonah were Don Carroll, Florence Weeks and Alta Ames. Albert Snyder, of Springville, spent several days with his mother, Mrs. Elva Snyder. Mrs. Ty Kolb accompanied Mrs. Don Kolb, of Ouray, to Salt Lake City last weekend for a medical checkup. Mrs. Dean Reay and daughter, daugh-ter, Darline, left May 18 for Bonanza to visit her mother, Mrs. George Heggie, who is ill. UNION MEETING Moon Lake stake Union meeting meet-ing was held Sunday afternoon, in the Mt. Emmons ward chapel. chap-el. Those from Altonah attending attend-ing were Mr. and Mrs. Lester Maxfield, Mr. and Mrs. Linford Maxfield, Mr. and Mrs. Clenty Ames, Mrs. Mary Powell, Mrs. ' Ty Kolb, Mrs. Grant Monson, Mrs. George Carroll, Mrs. Gilbert Gil-bert Beebe, Coralie Maxfield and Bonnie Ames. 1 Mr. and Mrs. Norman Hayes and family, of Provo, spent the weekend with Mrs. Hayes' parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse A. Fowler. j Mrs. Bennie Mitchell and new baby daughter returned home Tuesday from her parents' Mr. and Mrs. Leland Potts in Upalco, Upal-co, where she spent a week after af-ter leaving the Roosevelt Hospital. Hos-pital. Mr. and Mrs. Max Clark and baby spent Sunday with Max's mother, Mrs. Vendetta Clark. CUTS FACE Max Jessen was taken to Roosevelt, Monday for medical care. Max fell off the fence on a rock and received a bad cut on his jaw. Four stitches were required to close the wound. |
