Show ! Ill IU Jensen I Vera Snow I Phone 789-0628 J Partridges visit in Florida Mrs. Frank (Ellie) Partridge and small son are visiting the Robert Moores, Ellie's parents, in Longwood, Fla. Other visitors at her parent's home, while Ellie is there, will be Ellie's grandmother, Annie Becher, of Hartford, Conn. Mrs. Becher is in her eighties and until now had never seen her only great-grandchild, Frank M. Partridge, who is almost a year old. Ellie's brother and wife Mort and Barbara Moore are also visiting in the Robert Moore home. Frank Partridge plans to join his wife and baby this weekend. WTiile there the Partridges will visit his mother Josephine May. Visitors at the home of the Larry Petersons at Brush Creek during the weekend were Mr. and Mrs.' Don ' Peterson and their five children of Payson. Don and Larry are brothers. Bishop Lynn Morrill, accompanied by his daughter Lynette, made a business trip to Delta last week. Mrs. Wade Slaugh and daughters Janet, Sharalyn and Suzanne went to Provo last week to keep a doctor appointment ap-pointment and do some fall shopping. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Turner are rejoicing over the arrival of a new granddaughter. The parents are Mr. and Mrs. Bart Turner of N. Bountiful. The baby was born while her father, sisters and brothers were in Jensen for the 80th birthday celebration of Bart's father, William. Mr. and Mrs. Carey Smuin and their three small children were dinner guests at the home of Carey's grandmother, Flossie MacKnight Friday. Carey's mother Jane was also a'visitor at the MacKnight home last week. The Jensen Fire Department was called out to extinguish a fire in a car west on Highway 40 Wednesday night. The car had a flat tire and the driver was trying to get home on the rim. Sparks ignited a motor fire. No one was hurt, but the front end of the car was ruined. Lula Chew, who has been in St. Marks Hospital after suffering a slight stroke, is now in the hospital in Vernal. She welcomes visitors. Queeda Chew, daughter of Dean and Laura Chew, is the first girl ever to be president of the Uintah High School FFA. Tammie Vincent's class of MIA young ladies enjoyed a long horseback ride Saturday. Eight girls, their . leaders, and two other adults enjoyed the ride and the sunburns. Jensen residents employed by the Uintah School District this year are: Ann Moon, teacher at Naples Elementary; Arlene Thompson, secretary and office manager at Naples; Laura Chew and Mary Ellen Stubbs, bus drivers; Richard Tolley, accountant for the school district; Elva Douglas, helping cook at Discovery Elementary and Geneva M. Massey, a teacher's aide at Vernal Junior High. White and Vera Ainge went to nangeiy ounaay wnere conn Keniroe joined them. They then drove on to Craig to attend the annual picnic at the Valley View Manor, the rest home where Claude Renfroe resides. Besides enjoying the picnic, they were entertained en-tertained by a well planned program and good music. Wade and Sylvia Slaugh and their three youngest children traveled to Roosevelt Saturday evening to attend the wedding reception of their nephew Darrel Johnson and his bride. Darrell is the son of Grant and Floy Johnson, now residing in Missouri. Though the two Jensen contestants for homecoming queen did not become royalty in the eyes of the judges, neighbors neigh-bors and relatives of Queeda Chew, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Chew and Vickie Snow, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Snow, commend the girls for the parts they played in the talent show and other events leading up to the final naming of the queen and her attendants. at-tendants. Venice H. Pearce was a guest at the home of her sister Blanche H. Wilkins for two nights. Venice has been in Portland, Ore. visiting her son Bob and family and was on her way home by bus. Blanche and her daughter Ila Peterson took her home to Meeker early Tuesday morning. Venice visited her brothers Joe and John Haslem while here. Johnnie Oliver, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Oliver, formerly of Agenda, Kansas, now living at the Bed Rock Trailer Park of Jensen, was the little boy in the bicycle-car collision near the Jensen bridge a week or so- ago. Nick and Marg Allex, mother and step-father of Tina Turner are staying with the George Turners while their trailer home is getting ready for occupancy oc-cupancy on the land purchased near the Turner home. Tina's grandfather "Dutch" Wagner has been here, but is gone at present. He will soon return for another stay. Homemaking meeting at the Jensen Ward Relief Society will be held in the evenings for the next three months at least. ' Rulon (Red) Schurz is the manager of the new Bed Rock Trailer Park. A birthday dinner honoring Betty Eaton, daughter of Flossie MacKnight, was held at Flossie's home Sept. 26. A group of 28 was served turkey dinner with all the trimmings on three long tables in Flossie's lovely yard. Mr. and Mrs. Newel Snow were guests in the home of the Dewayne Merriams of Meeker, Colo, during the weekend.
