Show Project BOLD meeting here Oct. 7 A public meeting will be held in Vernal Wednesday, Oct. 7 to discuss Governor Matheson's Project BOLD. The proposal is to identify federal lands for possible acquisition by the state in an exchange for lands belonging to the state. The exchange would block up state lands into more logical management units, according to Governor Matheson. The Vernal meeting will be held in the courtroom of the Uintah County courthouse starting at 6 p.m. Areas being considered for blocking up in Uintah County are the oil shale and tar sand areas. The state has already applied for a major portion of this land under other programs. In I'intah and Daggett counties an area with potential mineral energy resources, and recreational development develop-ment around Diamond Mountain has been identified by Project BOLD. Public meetings have been held in Moaband Richfield and meetings have been scheduled for Cedar City. Oct. 1; Rrigham City. Oct. 6; Vernal. Oct. 7 and Salt Lake City. Oct. 8. |
