I J Yet as they tarried their hunger and thirst after God only I j blessed them the more. The waiting times became periods of ! tremendous heart searching, of deep sanctification, of wooing J by the Sprit to entire surrender. In spite of many blessed ! I hours thus spent waiting in the presence of God, there was no ! j acceptance of a fulfillment until they too had spoken with 1 j tongues and . magnified God in that unique Pentecostal 1 I manner. Out of such spiritual travail were born those j I qualified to lead others into similar blessing and meet every j I storm of criticism and later discouragement through human I I failure. I I Theirs is the calm assurance of those who know that their I J own baptism In the Spirit assuredly was received from none ' J other than the glorified Christ himself. No generation can ! ever enter into that which Pentecost stands for unless It j presses into a similar appropriation of deep and real and ! j personal baptism in the Holy Spirit. Rest assured that when you have been baptized In I the Spirit by Christ, you know It., The future of the Pentecostal ' j testimony Is Inextricably Interwoven with individual ' I Christians continuing to receive the baptism In the Holy Spirit ! as at Pentecost. , ' I Efficient organization, fine buildings, attractive J j preaching and singing, a whole lot of human drive will never 1 j be enough to produce more than Just one more denomination I scarcely different from all the rest. Neither will it produce I individual Christians distinguished by the sure marks of an I I inspiring fire within their souls. We must have Pentecost, or I I else we perish. Have you received this Baptism? Will you I j receive it? If not, you will never become an Integral part of the true Pentecostal revival, even though you are a member of 1 I one of its local churches. You will never be In a position really I to appreciate Its distinctive power and beauty, for that cannot j but be reserved for those who share Its central reality You I will never possess the power truly to forward Its testimony J for that power consists of the sum total of the witness manifested through those who have participated in a personal Pentecost. With that personal Pentecost your deep heart loyalty will never falter, even though you meet cruel I disappointment along the way. Your individual call to work I and witness may lead you anywhere, but you will know where ' your true fellowship Is found.
