Show Services held Monday for Harold Ed. Hermes Harold Edward Hermes, age 63 and a Moab resident of some years, died Thursday, Feb. 16 at Allen Memorial Hospital. Born Dec. 14, 1914 to Anna Reimann and Christian W. Hermes, he spent his early childhood in Ellinwood, Kansas. Harold's family then moved to Springfield, Colo., during his later youth. On Nov. 15, 1945 Mr. Hermes married Eleanor Lillian in Reno, Nev. After serving in the Army-Air Force during World War H, the Hermes resided in Idaho Springs, Colo., for ten years. After purchasing the Teton Valley News, the Hermes moved to Driggs, Idaho where they operated the paper until 1971. In 1971 the Hermes began managing a motel in Delta, Colo., and later moved to Moab. While here they purchased pur-chased and operated the P & W Trailer Court until 1977. Harold is survived by his wife, Eleanor, of Moab; two brothers, Joseph of Houston, Tex., and Kenneth of Dur-ango, Dur-ango, Colo.; and three sisters, Mrs. Francis Hirsch of Ellinwood, Ks., Mrs. Mildred Senko and Mrs. Carey Anderson, both of Selinas, Cal. Mr. Hermes was preceded preced-ed in death by one son, two brother, and one sister. Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 20 at 10 a.m. in the St. Pius X Catholic Church. Interment took place at Sunset Memorial Cemetery with graveside services by the Moab B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge 2021. Arrangements were made by Hefner Funeral Home. k. |
