Show Stung Again Several of the community are bemoaning the fact that they have been stung by sharpers claiming to be insurance agents. These complaints bring to the end of our tongue, the dig, "It will teach you to trade at home." Now the local insurance agents are willing to write insurance at rates set by the rating bureaus. These rates are as cheap as they can be, consistent with good business. Nobody can do business for less than cost and survive, and whenever a stranger comes around offering one something for nothing it is wise to get in touch with the Everett Better Business Bureau before be-fore accepting his belevolence, for no business can run long . by giving something for nothing. We have insurance agents right here who can take our applications for any kind of insurance. We do not have to wait for some outsider to come in and sell us what we want. Our local men cannot afford to gyp us. Let us take a lesson from this incident and buy what we want at home and keep the money within the family circle. It will not hurt us to contribute What little the profit the home man makes to the upbuilding of our own community. Too many of us begrudge our neighbor a little profit. We dislike to see him. make something from our trade. We'd rather get skinned by some outside sharper than to give our local man his legitimate profit. We look at the nickle who have so closelv that we cannot see the dollar on beyond it. |
