Show BRIGHAM WILL GET AN AIRPORT Fram all indications an airport will be established on the flats west of this city in the very near future. Messrs Bourne and Kenyon of the U. S. Department of Commerce were here Monday evening and went into the matter with officials of the Brig-ham Brig-ham chamber of commerce and later in the evening discussed matters with the city council. The visitors stated that Brigham hand been selected as an emergency landing field on the Salt Lake-Great Falls airline route; that the govern-, ment wouid expdnd abou $10,000 here in lighting and equipment if this city would furnish a suitable field. John M. Burt, vice president of the . local chamber of commerce, stated at the meeting that a suitable site had been located and negotiations are, now under way for obtaining a lease of from five to ten years on the prop- j erty. He further stated that the move j for an airport here had been endorsed by the board of directors of the chamber. cham-ber. After hearing the reports of the representatives of the government service and the local chamber of com-1 merce, the city officials gave their en- , dorsement to the move, and in all probability Brigham City will, in the ' l near future, establish an airport im-1 mediately west of this city. Other i landing fields will be established along! the airway line between Salt Lake and Great Falls, Montana, for the convenience conveni-ence of the airway service.
