Show Local Lions Provide Special I Mother's Day Tribute Mothers held the limelight when the Lions Club met Monday Mon-day for luncheon at Hotel El Es-calante. Es-calante. Each Lion had as his , guest his mother and his wife and to set the mood for the gathering gath-ering Captain Ralph R. Holmer, who was program committee chairman, paid tribute to the mothers mo-thers present. A ladies' quartet, consisting of Mrs. Wes Mullett. Mrs. Graham MacDonald, Mrs. Kumen Gardner anr Mrs. Tony Lambert, sang two appropriate numbers and Cleo Petty and Reed Berrett played two piano duet selections. The Lions quartet consisting of Her-schel Her-schel Necley, Howard Wood, Dale Nelson and Forrest Hunter paid honor to Mother In song. They were accompanied by Reed Ber-rett Ber-rett at the piano and Dale Rich on the guitar. Lauren MacDonald and Chris-tine Chris-tine Lambert, daughters of Lions G. D. MacDonald and Tony Lambert, Lam-bert, presented each Mother with a corsage. Special tribute was paid paid by President Gaylord Whitney and a gift was given to the oldest Mother present, Mrs. Ellen Spendlove Graff and to the youngest Mother, Mrs. Ralph R. Holmer. The occasion was Indeed a superb climax to the Mother's Day week end. |
