Show Congressman Dixon Endorses Cedar Flight Schedule In a hearing of the Civil Aeronautics Aer-onautics Board in Washington, D. C, Wednesday morning to con. aider an application for proposed propos-ed stops by the Bonanza Airlines, Congressman Henry Aldous Dix-on Dix-on I R-Ulan), appeared to issue a statement in favor of proposed stops at Cedar City and Kanab. The Bonanza Airlines has proposed pro-posed two daily stops in Cedar City and in Kanab on a new route attempting to be established establish-ed between Phoenix, Ariz., and Denver, Colo. In his statement at the hearing hear-ing which was presided over by James R. Durfee, chairman of the board, Congressman Dixon gave his endorsement of the schedule particularly as it applied ap-plied to southern Utah. "Cedar City is the gateway to the parks. Scenic tours start from Cedar City and virtually hundreds hun-dreds of thousands of people visit the area each year," he stated. "At the present time It is difficult to get to Cedar City by air because of the bad hour of arrival of the single daily flight from Salt Lake City. I have several times contemplated flying to Cedar City for important import-ant meetings and usally It was impossible because of the above stated reason. "Unquestionably two daily flights into Cedar City, as is proposed pro-posed by Bonanza Airlines, at more convenient hours than now 'exist would be beneficial to businessmen, touiiit" ar.d the city. "Cedar City is experiencing a steady growth with expansion of mining and other commercial ventures with a present population popula-tion of 8000," Dixon stated at Xhv hearing.
