Show L.D.S. Institute Plans Commencement Commencement exercises for the College of Southern Utah LDS Institute of Religion will be held at the college auditorium Sunday, Sun-day, May 19, with 22 upper division di-vision and G5 lower division graduates receiving diplomas from Reld H. Cox, member of the Cedar Stake Presidency. The exercises, beginning at 8:15 p. m., will also serve as bac. calaureate services for the college col-lege graduating clas Theme of the exercises will be 'The Presidents of the Church Speak to Youth," and will be introduced in-troduced by Ronald L. Mclntyre, upper division graduate, who will also deliver the address of welcome. Members of the graduating grad-uating class will appear on the program giving thoughts from each of the presidents of the church since its organization by the Prophet Joseph Smith. These students will include Joseph B. Warr. Annette Gubler. David C. Williams. Kathy W. Ipson. Ar-leen Ar-leen Edwards, Morris A. Slack, Afton Jolley, Gerald W. Mathe-son Mathe-son and Sharon Clark. fntrnatlftn will K f?rkfifcrt A. Slack, and benediction by Florene Richardson, both members mem-bers of the graduating class. Director Paul E. Felt will give the report of the Institute after which President Cox will present pre-sent the diplomas. The musical program will Include In-clude the "Lord's Prayer," "Pre-lude "Pre-lude to Cavalleria Rusticana," and "Hallelujah, Amen," by the College of Southern Utah string ensemble, composed of Prof. Roy L. Halversen. Carol Ann Jones, Marilyn Halversen, Merelyn Bradshaw, Mary MacDonald. June Thorley, Layne Nlelson and Gloria Dotson; a number, "Jesus Priceless Treasure," by the College Col-lege of Southern Utah chorus, un der the direction of Dr. Blaine Johnson, and song "We Thank Thee O God for a Prophet," by a graduate trio- competed of Chloeen Callister, Sherrill K. Hunter, and Roxanna Coulter. Organ music for the march of the graduates will be by Reed Berrett The public Is invited to attend the services, Director Felt states. |
