WEBSTER A Cedar City man is among the small number of army Reserve Re-serve Officer Training Corps cadets ca-dets to win the "Distinguished Military Cadet rating at Utah State University. Jack Nelson Webster (J. N.) son of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Web-ster, Web-ster, .Cedar City, who will grad uate from Utah State In June, Is one of 19 military cadets listed aa "distinguished," according to members of the military staff. A major In accounting In the college of business, "J. N." expects ex-pects to enter the Army Finance Section in Indianapolis next September. Sep-tember. He Is a cadet captain In the ROTC unit and a company commander. The professor of military science, sci-ence, who designated the distinguished disting-uished cadets after careful consideration, con-sideration, said the honor Is bas- j ed on outstanding qualities of J leadership, moral character, and aptitude for military; service. They also must have attained an academic standing In the upper up-per half of the class. ; These distinguished cadets m.ly quality as distinguished graduates grad-uates and are offered the opportunity oppor-tunity to compete for regular army commissions. J. N. was active in football at Cedar High school and College of Southern Utah from where he transferred to Utah State. Mr. Webster's wife, the former Sharon Dorrlty of Cedar City, is a clerk In the office of the dean of university college. |
