Show SOLDIER IS AIDED BY PROVO PEOPLE VROVO, Nov. 11. J. H. Bermes. a young soldier carrying an honorable discharge dis-charge from the Canadian military service, ser-vice, arrived at the Orem station one night last week, sick and with 30 cents in his pocket. He was found by F. M. .Hudson, .Hud-son, a G. A. R. veteran, whe reported the case to Sheriff Henry East. A room was secured for Bermes at the Royden House and the case brought to the attention of Chairman J. A. Buttle of the Red Cross, who, after satisfying himself of the correctness cor-rectness of the young man's story, secured se-cured transportation for him to Kansas City, Mo., where his patents are living. Bermes enlisted in the Canadian armj about three years ago and was on- the front about eighteen months. Upon being be-ing discharged he went to Seattle. Wash., where his parents lived when he enlisted, enlist-ed, to find that they had moved to Kansas Kan-sas City, and he was on his way there when his money gave out and he became be-came ill. |
