The first contribution to the fund in ithe city was $260, made last night by Mhc members of the home guards, who ied the money in the uniform fund to VSfcyar work. OT;jman Charles H. Barton issued a statement tonight, again calling the attention at-tention of the people to the necessity of supplying funds for the soldiers' comfort com-fort and entertainment and to make their life in France, during the time they are waiting to be returned to America, as much like home as possible. It is stated that the united war work will continue in France for many months to come. |
