Secretary of State Lansing today issued the foUowinir statement: "The American people can rejoice that their patriotism, their loyalty and their splendid spirit of service nnd sacrifice have been rewarded. Prussian militarism militar-ism Is ended: It no longer menaces liberty lib-erty and Justice. But before us lie new tasks and new burdens which we must assume with the same unity of purpose, the same devotion and zeal as have characterized char-acterized the republic durlnir this ureal war. Let us, while we celebrate this day of victory, look forward to the future, conscious of our supreme duty to humanity hu-manity and confident In tho united will of the nation."
