Show Lancaster Looms Ul Again Andrew Lancaster notorious under the only name he possesses was arrested by Marshal Phillips on Second South street Saturday night for committing battery on John AVilson a miner Lancaster was tried in the Police Court this morning on the preferred charge and found guilty From evidence on the part of plaintiff and defendant it was shown that Lancaster Lancas-ter had gone into Meears billiard rooms and asked Wilson who was considerably under the influence of liquor but possessed pos-sessed of money to play a game of pool Some dispute arose and Wilson used some harsh language to Lancaster who went outside and as soon as the stupified miner came out Lancaster dealt him a blow on the left side of the head which felled him to the ground like a dead man He bled profusely and Marshal Phillips who arrested the defendant testified that he thought Lancaster used something beside be-side his fist though the assailant said he did not and he could knock any man down with his fist He was fined 10 and costs in all 1650 for which amount he is skirmishing in order to save himself I from the jail |
