Show Kindergarten In County Ends; Statistics Qiven I Kindergarten closed Friday in the Duchesne County School District. Enrollment records show that 149 children attended this pre-school training in the 1 county this year, compared with the 141 enrollment listed for 1950, reports Mrs. Arietta Williams, Wil-liams, elementary school supervisor. super-visor. Classes were held Monday thiough Friday for the past six weeks at elementary schools in Neola, Myton, Duchesne, AUa-mont, AUa-mont, Tabiona. and Roosevelt. Two sections were taught at the Roosevelt elementary school, one group being taught in the forenoon and another class in the afternoon. In the other schools, classes were held from 9 a, m. to 12 noon. Enrollment statistics are as follows: (school, teacher, enrollment enroll-ment and average daily attendance attend-ance are listed in that order.) Neola, Ruth Jensen, 15, 13.10; Myton, Laiue Burgess, 24, 20.36; Duchesne, Ruby McDonald, 19, 18.03; Altamont, Alta E. Beck-stead, Beck-stead, 28, 22.60; Tabiona, Dot Ottosen, 18, 16 10; Roosevelt, Ida S. Harrison, 45, 42.03. In summing up the six-week kindergarten, Mrs. Williams stated that she feels as if the pupils made gTeat progress in becoming acquainted with the school routine, socialability, working in groups during this pre-school training period. |
