Show Fish &, Game To Have Fair Display According' to Director J, Perry Per-ry Egan, recent Fish and Game Commission action was taken to insure a continuous display of fish in the Fish and Game building at the State Fair Grounds during each Fair season. sea-son. Previously use of the Salt Lake City water supply, which contains additive chemicals, has caused loss of the fish being displayed in the tanks. To preclude this happening again, the Department has experimented ex-perimented with and proven the feasibility of using spring water which, through a pumping and filtering system will Insure a fine continuous display without with-out loss of fish. Since this display each fall has been one of the important attractions at the Fair Grounds, it was felt by the Commission that a minor expenditure to correct cor-rect this condition was justifiable, justi-fiable, according to the Director. This will also preclude replacement re-placement of fish during the Fair because of these losses. This in itself has been an expensive ex-pensive operation that should not again be necessary under the new system. |
