Show M.I. A. Summer Program Begins The ward M.I.A. opened their summer program Tuesday night with a Gypsy Jamboree at the rodeo grounds. The hay wagons, provided for the ride to the grounds, were drawn by tractors, trac-tors, a new experience for the oldsters whose hay rides in bygone by-gone days featured a team of horses. Games were played under the leadership of Ross Barrett, fun songs were led by Deane Case, with other program numbers directed by Mrs. Willard Hitchcock. Hitch-cock. Mr. and Mrs. Evan Bennion, M.I.A. heads, were in charge of the affair, and also provided w e i n e r s and marshmallows which were roasted over the campfire. Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd Powell have moved into the Willard B. Mecham home, which they purchased pur-chased from Mr. Mecham. The Mechams are living in the . apartment at the store which they recently purchased. Helen Sheppard, of Salt Lake, is visiting' with her aunt, Mrs. Delmar Mecham. Mrs. LaVeda Titcomb is rejoicing re-joicing over the arrival of her first grandchild, who was born at the Roosevelt hospital Sunday, Sun-day, June 24. The baby is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Vern Tit-comb. Tit-comb. ' Lyle Young was treated at the Roosevelt hospital Monday for a nose bleed which had persisted per-sisted for several hours. The attending physician stopped the hemorrhage and Mr. Young was able to return home the same day. Evan Hansen spent the weekend week-end in Salt Lake with his parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Hansen. Han-sen. While there he visited his cousin, Grant Hansen, in the L.D.S. hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Wirthlin, Jr., of Salt Lake, are the parents par-ents of a baby boy, born June 22. The infant is their first child. Jack is a former Mt. Emmons Em-mons resident; his wife was Miss Anna Fae Ames, of Al-tonah. Al-tonah. Floyd Ross, of Roosevelt, was in Mt. Emmons Thursday on U.B.I.C. business. He also conferred con-ferred with R.E.A. officials on the proposed telephone system. |
