Show J)cka Mrs. Bertha Angus Mrs. Violet Gentry Ward Supper Was Well Attended The supper given by the ward last Thursday was well attended attend-ed A lovely supper was served by the Relief- Society, after which a program of outstanding talent in the Basin was presented. present-ed. We were very happy to have I members of the stake presidency enjoy the evening with us. Clifford Drollinger made a trip to Salt Lake City last Tuesday Tues-day and returned Wednesday. He was accompanied by Cheryl Drollinger and JoLene Robinson. Robin-son. Paul Spencer visited his folks last week. Paul is working for the Northern Gas Co. in Roos-. evelt. Evan Percival and Paul Foote are working on an oil rig. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Spencer Spen-cer are happy over the arrival of a baby boy, born at the Roosevelt Roos-evelt Hospital on Feb. 21. No Relief Society. Primary or M.I.A. meetings were held last Tuesday due to roads being blocked by snow drifts. W. H. Stone came home Friday. Fri-day. He has been in California for the past two months. There were eleven from here who attended the school play put on at the Roosevelt Elementary Ele-mentary School by Mrs. Ida Harrison's second grade. We have eight children .from Ioka in that room. The program was very good. It was on the making of the first play with George Washington. Mr. and Mrs. Arvil Michie and son, Bobbie, made a trip to Tre-monton Tre-monton last week. Visiting Sunday School this week was Bert Stoddard, Wm. O. Whitehead and Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert McKenna, of the Stake Genealogical Board. Speakers at Sacrament meeting meet-ing on Feb. 24 were James E. Bacon, of the high council, and Roland Buchanan, of Roosevelt. Mr. and Mrs. Roy French and son visited over the weekend at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ed-mond Ed-mond Webb. Mr. and Mrs. George Davis and family visited over the week end at the home of Jim Lemon. Word has been received by Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Faucett that Johnny, who is stationed with the Navy at San Diego, is going go-ing to school for 15 weeks in Ghicjago. He will study hydraulic hy-draulic mechanics. The M.I.A. speech director, Mrs. Edith Gentry, will have th'ee one-act plays ready for March 4. The plays she has prepared pre-pared are "Mushrooms Coming Up," "Who's Afraid of a Ghost,' and "Three's a Crowd." HOSTESS TO CLUB Mrs. Margaret Lloyd was hostess host-ess to the Thursday Club at her home on Feb. 21. Enjoying the afternoon , and delicious refreshment re-freshment were Olive Sorenson, Mattie Mortenson, Edith Gentry, Jo Yergensen, Violet Gentry, and Mrs. Myrtle Nelson, of Soring City, Mrs. Clayton Webb and Dean Lloyd, club gueits. M'-s. O. A. Dart made a trip to Salt Lake -Sunday, returning Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Fauceti and family, of Upalco, spe.it Saturday with Mrs. Olive Soren-son. Soren-son. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Lemon and daughters, Roene, Ilia and Beneil, visited their son and daughter in Tridell. Boyd is leaving this week for his new camp in Tennessee. Mrs. Tuff Reay returned Wednesday from a few day's visit in Salt Lake: W. H. Stone returned home Thursday from California, where he had spent the past six weeks. Mrs. Myrtle Nelson, of Spring City, was an overnight guest Thursday of Mrs. Senior Mor-tensen. Mor-tensen. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Spe i-cer i-cer announce the birth of a son, Feb. 20 at the Roosevelt Hospital All concerned are doing do-ing nicely. Mrs. George Davis and children, chil-dren, of Salt Lake, spent the, week end with Mrs. Davis parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Lemon. |
