Show Open lianse Will I Honor Birthday Of Eliza Gilbert All friends and relatives of Mrs. Eliza Jane Gilbert are cor-i ' dially invited to attend Open j j House in honor of her 80th1 birthday next Sunday, between the hours of 2 and 5 p. m., at the home of a daughter, Mar- tha Shanks, with other family members assisting. i Mrs. Gilbert has been very , active all her life until the past, few months. For the past seven years she has resided with her daughter, and prior to that time lived in Arcadia, where she and her husband, Leandrew Jackson Gilbert, settled in 1915 on the Old Red Cap farm. Mr. Gilbert died approximately 47 years ago, leaving his wife and several sev-eral small children. However, her husband's death did not hinder the progressiveness of his family. The boys stayed on the farm to help their mother and the girls attended school. Out of the eight children in the family five are still living and been very successful in life. They are Mittie Young, of Murray; Mur-ray; Alta Hill, Bountiful; Martha Mar-tha Shanks, Roosevelt: Thomai M. Gilbert, Arcadia; and John A. Gilbert, RooseveU. Mrs. Gilbert has 47 grandchildren, grandchil-dren, 30 great-grandchildren, and one greatgreat-g'randchild. She has been a very active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints all her life, having served as Relief Re-lief Society president, a counselor, counsel-or, and a visiting teacher for nearly fifty years. She has abo held responsible positions in the j M.I. A., Primary and Sundny ; School argonizations, as well an in Genealogical work. j The honored guest requests that thre be r.o gifts at the Open House - celebration. |
