Show Mrs. Mable Jenkins DUP Tvleeting Is Social Affair The D.U.P. meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Lillie Bige-low, Bige-low, with Captain Mae Sprouse conducting the lesson. Refreshments Refresh-ments were served by Lillie Bigelow, Sylvia Blackburn, Norma Nor-ma Burton to fourteen members. Mr, and Mrs. Ervin Young, of California, visited Mrs. Young's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rulen Rasmussen during the week. Mrs. Leland Perry, Rulen and Merrell Rasmussen and Pearl Norton, of Vernal, have returned re-turned from Salt Lake City. They reort their father, Jake Rasmussen, much improved. Mrs. Rile Blackburn returned home Wednesday from Salt Lake City, where she had been called to' the bedside of her brother, Albert Burch. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin (Brig) Mowrey, of Tod Park, attended funeral services for his father, Uriah Mowrey, Feb. 18 at the Lapoint Chapel. While here he visited with his brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Mowrey, and with Mrs. Mow-rey's Mow-rey's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Angus Anderson, of Ballard. Phillip Miller and Berta Woolley, of Salt Lake City, spent the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Anderson and Mr. and Mrs. Milton Mil-ton Woolley. DINNER PARTY Mr. and Mrs. Rollin McNeill, of Vernal, gave a dinner at the Gateway Cafe in honor of new-lyweds. new-lyweds. Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Hart. Tables were set for 60 guests, relatives and friends. The evening was spent in dancing. danc-ing. Relatives from Lapoint who attended were Mr. and Mrs. Clair Burton, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Burton, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Neilson and Mr. and Mrs. Vern Neilson. ' Nile Bigelow crushed his hand while working at the Red Wash oil field and is home for a few days. Mrs. A. M. Lyman, of Roosevelt, Roos-evelt, spent last weekend with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Rex Taylor. Pvt. Peter Harrison returned home Friday from a Hospital in San Francisco where he had been under treatment since November No-vember 17. He has a 30-day leave. A P.T.A. meeting was held at the Lapoint Sschool Thursday Thurs-day of last week. The evening was spent in discussion of business busi-ness matters. Loris Woolley, vice president, and Rulen Rasmussen Rasmus-sen discussed whooping cough and its control. Dr. and Mrs. Mathew Mansfield, Mans-field, Mr. and Mrs. Golden Winn, Mrs. Mae Sprouse and Carol Caldwell went to Provo Friday on a business trip and to visit in Salt Lake City with Mr. and Mrs. Garth Elmer and sons. COLLECT PENNIES The Primary officers and teachers made a visit from house to house recently collecting collect-ing birthday pennies for the new Primary Hospital in Salt Lake City. Kenneth Huber, of Logan, spent the week end with his parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Huber. Hu-ber. Mr. and Mrs. Donnal Rasmussen Rasmus-sen and children, of Salt Lake City, spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Rasmussen. Doris Rasmussen entertained the following guests at dinner Saturday evening: Dale Harri son, Keith Walker, Vivian Mc-Conkie. Mc-Conkie. Joan Ross. Morgan Glines, all' of Tridell, and Vella Rasmussen. HONORED ON BIRTHDAY A surprise party was given Saturday evening, Feb. 23 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Huber, honoring Rexl Taylor on his birthday anniversary. Progressive rook was played and luncheon was served to the following guests: Mr. and Mrs Roy Huber, Mr. and Mrs. Geo'. Nyberg, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Huber; Mr. and Mrs. Hank Swain, Roosevelt; Mr. and Mrs. Les Taylor and Maxine, Leeton; M.r. and Mrs. Rex Taylor, and the hostess. The stake home missionary gave the program in Sacrament meeting Sunday evening. |
