Show MIA Has Outdoor Party At Park Members of the M.I.A. met at the ball park last Tuesday and participated in an evening of recreation. Games and watermelon water-melon combined to make the time a memorable one. Recent visitors in Neola included in-cluded Elder Kenneth Wilkerson, Wilker-son, who has recently returned from a mission to' the Southern States; his sister, Edith Wilker-son, Wilker-son, of Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Wilkerson, and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Wilkerson, of Duchesne. Mrs. Thad Wilkerson visited in Duchesne last Tuesday with her daughter, Mrs. Cleo Stephenson. Ste-phenson. Mrs. Phillys Wardle, representing repre-senting the Primary stake board, visited the Ioka ward Primary last Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Warnell Warn-sley Warn-sley and Mr. and Mrs. Bryce-Wamsley Bryce-Wamsley left last Friday for their homes in Phoenix, Ariz., after visiting at the Oluf Duncan Dun-can home here. Allen Harrison has began construction on a new home, located just south of the one he recently sold to Mr. and Mrs. Holmes, of Ft. Duchesne. Myron Duncan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oluf Duncan, was under un-der the doctor's care last week, when it was feared that he had been stricken with polio. Later diagnosis proved that it was a virus infection instead, much to the relief of all concerned. He was confined to his bed for several sev-eral days. Mrs. Bill Yack was a patient at the Roosevelt Hospital last week. Mrs. Zee Fuell and Mrs. Fae Mills, with their children, made a business trip to Duchesne last week. COMMUNITY CLUB IS ENTERTAINED Mrs. Clyde Hacking and Mrs. Royal Horrocks were co-hostess. es at the latter's home last Friday Fri-day to members of the Community Com-munity Club. Highlight of the evening was the showing of I slides by Mrs. Zee Fuell, of scenes taken in Japan, where she had made her home for some time while her husband was stationed there. The remainder re-mainder of the time was spent in making plans for future activities, ac-tivities, after which refreshments refresh-ments were served. CELEBRATES BIRTHDAY Small friends of Gaylen Yack helped him celebrate his third birthday last Saturday, with a party at his home. Games, balloons, bal-loons, ptfnch, cakes, ice cream and suckers combined to make the occasion a merry one. Mrs. Tal Wardle was a Duchesne Du-chesne visitor last Tuesday, when she was called there on jury duty. Mr. and Mrs. Tal Wardle, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Jensen and Mr. and Mrs. Thurman Peterson attended at-tended a party for the stake Primary workers and their partners. part-ners. The affair was held at the Roosevelt City Park last Friday evening. Mrs. Rudy Krissman and two children, of Myton, spent Sunday Sun-day here at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Bas-tian. Bas-tian. Mr. and Mrs. Nephi Smithson visited in Ogden recently with their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Opp. Welcome guests at the W. K. Dye home were Adair Baxter, of Orem, and Bruce Baxter, of Salt Lake City, sons of Mrs. W. K. Dye. Both were on business trips to the Basin. The home of Mr. ' and Mrs. Wesley Bastian has been the scene of much activity recently, when members of Mrs. Bastian's family arrived for a visit from Los Angeles. Enjoying their hospitality were Mr. and Mrs. Joe Marx, Mr. and Mrs. Hilton Marx, Mr. and Mrs. Moore, Mr. and Mrs. Lonzo Marx, and their families. While here they attended at-tended the Kump family reunion, reun-ion, which was held in Uinta Canyon last week. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Nelson and son visited in Neola Sunday with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.-'J. Nelson, and Mr. and Mrs. Orrin Gardner. Rawlin Spencer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Delias Spencer, left last Tuesday for the armed fo.-ces. fo.-ces. Victor Horrocks, Floyd Horrocks Hor-rocks and Irey Forakis, of Salt Lake City, made a business trip to Neola last week. FAMILY GETS TOGETHER The family of Mr. and Mrs. Lorin Cloward enjoyed a get-to-gether last Sunday af ternoo l in Whiterocks Canyon. The occasion oc-casion was complimentary to Mrs. Justin Fuell and family, who will leave in the near future fu-ture for Africa, where Mr., Fuell is stationed. Present were Mr. and Mrs. Mervin Betts, of Roosevelt; Shirley, Gay and Dar Cloward, the parents, and Mrs. Fuell and family. |
