Show August Date Set For Wedding Announcement has been received re-ceived of the engagement of Howard W. Davenport, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Davenport, Daven-port, Sr., former Myton residents resi-dents now residing in Los Angeles, An-geles, Calif. His bride-to-be is Miss Carolyn Thomson, daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. John S. Thomson, of San Marino. Calif. Miss Thomson completed her junior year at Stanford, residing resid-ing at Storey House on the campus of the university. The groom-elect completed his junior year at Utah State Agricultural College at Logan and at present is in R.O.T.C. summer camp at Fort Lee, Virginia. They plan a marriage on August 14th and will start their senior year together. to-gether. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Ponton and family, of Salt Lake City, were weekend visitors at the homes of Mrs. Ponton's father, Lee Cooper, and her brother and sister-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Hay-den Hay-den Cooper. The Ponton family will enjoy a week vacationing at Moon Lake and then return to Myton for another short visit before returning to Salt Lake City. Mr and Mrs. Charles Meranda spent the weekend at their ranch west of town. They were accompanied by tiny Jean Anderson, An-derson, small daughter of a friend. They returned to American Amer-ican Fork, Sunday evening. Fern Clark visited relatives in Gusher from Thursday till Saturday. She accompanied her brother, Ben, as far as Gusher when he was returning to his station in Florida. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Krause and family are? visiting Mrs. Krause's mother, Mrs. Lydia Peatross, arriving Friday from Window-rock, Window-rock, Ariz., where Mr. Krause is employed in the U. S. Irrigation Irriga-tion Service. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Richardson, Rich-ardson, Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Courtland, Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Schuckers and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Todd were members of a jolly group who gathered Thursday Thurs-day evening to surprise Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Woolf. Refreshments Refresh-ments were served and cards enjoyed. The Woolf family expects ex-pects to move to Washington some time in the near future. Among those from out of town who attended the services at the Presbyterian church, on Sunday were, Mr. and Mrs. Titus Ti-tus Jones, Mrs. L. C. Winslow, , Guy Winslow, Mr. and Mrs. Lundgren and daughters, Joyce, Darlene and Dorma, Mrs. Emil Munz, Miss Laura demons, of Duchesne; Fred Ferron and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Ferron of Roosevelt; and Mr. and Mrs. Koehler, of Vernal. All enjoyed the vocal selections rendered by a 30-voice choir from Ogden and the services conducted by Rev. Booker, of the First Con-gretational Con-gretational Church of Ogden. Miss Dorothy Hatch, of Helper, Hel-per, was a guest of Miss Faye Robinson for two days last week.. Mrs. Marge Jenso'n held "open house" Friday evening in her recently completed home on South Myton Bench. Many friends called during the evening eve-ning and Mrs. Jenson was the recipient of many nice gifts presented pre-sented for use in her new home. Mr. and Mrs. Homer Robinso.i and grandchildren. Bunnie Robinson Rob-inson and Carol Workman, and Miss Alice Todd motored to Daniels Canyon Saturday where they met Mr. and Mrs. Bill Robinson Rob-inson and family coming from Salt Lake City. The group participated par-ticipated in a picnic despite tne stormy weather. Bunnie and Carol joined the Bill Robinson family to return to Salt Lake City and the other members of the party returned to Myton. Mr. and Mrs. Rex Lamb took their daughter, Connie, to Salt Lake City-early last week sol the little Miss could undergo a tonsilectomy. Mrs. Lamb and Connie stayed there until Friday Fri-day when Mr. Lamb again drove to Salt Lake to bring them home. Connie is now convalescing con-valescing at home and getting along nicely. Mr. and Mrs. Dick Bingham and family came from Salt Lake City Saturday to visit Mrs. Bingham's Bing-ham's mother, Mrs. Ole Peterson. Peter-son. Mr. Bingham returned home Sunday evening while his wife and family remained for a longer visit. Mr. and Mrs. Wardle and family fam-ily moved from Vernal last week to occupy the Tolboe home. Mr. Wardle is employed at the Myton Pump Station on the Salt Lake Pipe Line, and has been driving from Vernal each day until they procured housing. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Peatross and family, of Sandy, were vis-' itors Sunday at the home of Mr. Peatross' mother, Mrs. Lydia Peatross. A group of young folks enjoyed en-joyed a picnic in Pleasant Valley Val-ley Wednesday evening to celebrate cele-brate Mrs. Calvin Monk's birthday birth-day anniversary. Plenty cf "good eats" and a lot of fun made the evening pass all too quickly. |
