Show Two Loaded Busses Take "Kids" To Vernal Tuesday Two busses loaded with anxious an-xious swimmers left Roosevelt at 12:00 noon Tuesday to enjoy free swimming lessons at Vernal. Ver-nal. Don Crittenden, Roosevelt City's recreational director, reported re-ported that approximately 130 swimming enthusiasts made the trip, eager for next Tuesday to roll around again. The second bus was - added this week to accomodate the youngsters and will be kept in operation along with the first bus. The Roosevelt Kiwanis Club donated $25 toward the project, which is being sponsored spon-sored by the Roosevelt BPW Club in connection with the City and School Board of Education. Edu-cation. It is hoped that the program pro-gram can continue throughout the summer and is possible with the aid of civic groups. Each child riding the bus is charged a ten cent fee and if he desires to remain in the Vernal pool foT one hour swimming after the free lessons are given, the fee is twenty-five cents. Mr. Crittenden is happy with the response of the youth, and feels that the project should be continued. Drivers of the busses are Grant Fredrickson and Gail Anderson. |
