Show Union Will Elost oab En Last Grid Game When the Union High School Cougars meet the Region 5 chamions here tomorrow, Friday October 23, 'at 1 p. m:. they will have their entire squad in suits for the first time since the season actually got underwav. Some of the injured boys are not 100 per. cent O.K., but they have - recovered from their wounds sufficiently that they will all get a chance to play Friday. According to Coach Elden Wright, he expects to start most of his seniors against Moab. Ready for action for the first time is Morgan Glines, 6 ft., 165 lb. right half back, who will probably be found at end. He cracked an arm early in the season and has not gotten into a game. Doyle Huber. quarter; John Benson, left-half; Gordon Eldredge, end; Duane Richens. quarter, and Scott Edrington, guard, axe all expected to be used during the contest. Benson. Eldredge and Huber are not expected to be completely recovered, re-covered, which might mean they will be used only in spots. Although they haven't a chance to win a title, the Cougars Coug-ars would like nothing better than to drop the Moab eleven into the once-beaten class. And by the same token, Coach Dick Hill from Grand County High will be gunning his boys to win this one, leaving them undefeated un-defeated ' as they prepare to enter the semi-finals in a couple of weeks. Passing and pass defense has come" in for a lot of emphasis this week by Coaches Wright and Glen Allred. For two seasons sea-sons the Cougars have been weak on defense, and this has caused the coaching department plenty of worry. Huber will start at quarter and do most of the passing. Game-time will be 1 p. m. at Union High's new sod field and the contest : is the final game for the Cougars,- unless a post-season game is arranged, which is doubtful. i |
