AMETH ANDERSON, Bluebell resident Who gave his life in the service of his country during World War II, was recently honored by having a golf club in Ken-lucky Ken-lucky named after him. Ameth Anderson, son of' Mrs. Mary Sue Anderson, wh") , resides at Shelby. Ky.', and son ( of Mr. and Mrs. John. X. Anderson, Ander-son, of Bluebell, who lost hi3 j life in line of duty in Germany' on April 13, 1945. Lieutenant Colonel Clark j Webber, assistant director - cf training for the Armored School i presided at the dedicatory ex'er-j cises which were held recently at the golf club in Shelby. A-plaque A-plaque bearing the name. decorations, dec-orations, and date of. death -of Sgt. Anderson, for whom th.i house was named, was presented to MSgt. Hugh H. Hensley. chief clerk, AG section, 3rd Armored Division and president of the club. Col. Webber cited Sgt. Anderson's heroism, devn tion to duty, and fine record, which included the Bronze Star. Distinguished Service Cross, Pumle Heart and Silver Star, the lat one presented posthumously posthum-ously to his widow following his death in Germany. Sgt. Anderson saw active duty in Africa. Sicily, England, Belgium, Bel-gium, France, Holland and Germany Ger-many prior to receiving wounds which proved fatal. . The plaque, bearing Sgt. Anderson's An-derson's name, decoration? and date of death has been placed in the lobby of the club house which bears his name. |
