Show Democratic Rally A Democratic rally was held in the Altamont gym on Thursday, Thurs-day, Oct. 16. There were national, na-tional, state and local candidates present, among them Rep. Walter Wal-ter K. Granger. Many local citizens ci-tizens attended the meeting. I Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth La-Rose La-Rose are the proud parents of a baby son born Monday. Oct. 13, at the Roosevelt Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Lambet t and their son, Dennie, journeyed by train to Detroit, Michigan, recently, where they purchased a new Hudson Hornet. On their way home they went through Ontario to Niagra Falls, down through New .York, Cleveland, Kentuck, Missouri, Kansas and then home. Mrs. Rulon Powell tended their other two children while they were away. George Retallick and his son, Roy,, of Salt Lake City, came out to go' deer 'hunting with Ned Mitchell and other relatives. They were here three days. 83 YEARS OLD C. A. Hansen, of Salt Lake City, celebrated his 83rd birthday birth-day on Sunday, October 19, with members of his family here in Mt. Emmons. The monthly Primary preparation prepar-ation meeting was held Oct. 16 at the home of Mrs. Hershel Iorg. Present were Mrs. Lyrad McConkie, Mrs. Grant Hansen. Mrs. Ned Mitchell. Mrs. David Gaily and Mrs. Iorg. All the Altamont teachers attended at-tended the U E A convention at Salt Lake City. They returned to school on October 13. except Mrs. Edythe Hansen who was taken ill and remained in Salt Lake until Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Dale Crozier and son, Michael Dale, have returned from Washington, where Mr. Crozier was recent'.v discharged from the Navy. After Af-ter visiting Mrs. Crozier's folks. Mr. and Mrs. Crosby, they will make their home in Neola, where Mr. Crozier will run his father's farm. Sgt. Merlin Perkins, who has been stationed in Washington, D. C, is returning home after four years in the army. Ronald and Jackie Case, of Salt Lake City, are staying with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. E. Case, while their parents are deer hunting. Lynn Case and his family are also visiting their parents, the Ear! Cases, while Lynn is deer hunting hunt-ing with his brother, Russell. |
