Show This Week's RECIFE . . . Chicken Casserole is the name of tne recipe given this week by Mrs. George Hacking, wno states that it is delicious and very nutritious. Served with a salad and hot rolls, it makes a perfect dinner dish. Chicken Casserole (Serves 12 to 16) 1 stewing chicken, 4 to 5 lbs. Boil until tender and cut from bones in quite larga pieces. V2 cup shortening 34 cup flour 6 cups chicken broth 6 eggs well beaten Melt shortening and add flour. Slowly add chicken brotn and cook 5 minutes. Add eggs and cook 2 more minutes. Let cool while following dressing is being made. Dressing 3 to 4 cups bread crumbs 6 tbs. melted butter or other shortening 2 tbs. minced onion Vz tsp salt V2 U'D. sage Vs tsp. pepper Mix together and put layer of dressing in bottom of large buttered baking dish. Combine chicken with custard mixture and place a layer on top of dressing. Alternate in layers with chicken on top. Top with crushed potato' chips or fine bread crumbs. Bake 50 minutes at 350 degrees. i |
