Show St i wan is & Lions Hear BYU Professor Speak A joint meeting of Lions and Kiwanians and their wives was held last night at the Frontier Grill Cafe, where they heard Dr. Hugh Nibley. professor of religious education at the Brig-ham Brig-ham Young University, Provo. Dr. Nibley came to Hoosevelt at the eleventh hour as the second sec-ond substitute for Douglas Stringfellow, of Ogden, who had been engaged to deliver an ad-1 dress at the L D S Stake House to the general public in addition to the two service clubs. When Mr. Stringfellow was stricken ill and rushed to an Ogden hospital, hos-pital, Cleon W. Skousen. executive execu-tive secretary of the BYU alumni, accepted a substitute appointment. ap-pointment. Wednesday morning his doctor sent him to bed with i an infection, and Dr. Nibley came to the rescue. He was introduced in-troduced by LeRoy J. Olseh, secretary of the Provo Kiwanis Club, who made the arrangements arrange-ments for the speaker. The meeting, which was sponsored spon-sored by Kiwanis. was presided over by Floyd Peterson. Cliff Memmott was in charge of the program. |
