Show y 01 (yiiir' 1 W. l nit Mr. and Mrs. Wm. P. Knecht, of Massachusetts, visited during the week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. Harold Eldredge. The Knechts were enroute to Provo and Salt Lake City to attend the wedding of their son, Bill, and to visit with their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Burr Eldredge. Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Bletch and daughter, Ann, of Highland Park, Illinois, visited briefly during the week with her sis ter and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Wardle. They were enroute to San Rafael, California Cali-fornia to visit another of Mrs. Bletch's sisters, Mrs. Roe Golsch. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Wardle arrived in Roosevelt Saturday night from Santa Anna, California, Cali-fornia, to spend an eighteen-day visit with their parents, Mr. I and Mrs. Harold Dillman and Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Wardle. Upon termination of the visit the Wardles will go to Camp Detrich, Maryland, where Mr. Wardle will receive further training with the U. S. Navy. I Mr. and Mrs. Max Mullins, of San Diego, California, wore in Roosevelt and Arcadia la-i week to visit with friends ad re;.-! re;.-! atives. They were accompanied home by their mothers. Mrs. Ceha Gilbert and Mrs. Lulu Mullins, who had been visiting them during the past two weeks. While in California, Mrs. Lulu Mullins also visited her son, Floyd, and family in Los Angeles. An-geles. Mr. Mullins who is serving with the U. S. Navy stationed aboard the Destroyer Brown 546, left Friday to report back at San Diego for overseas duty Mrs. Mullins will remain here. Lt. and Mrs. J. R. Allred and son have arrived from Alaska and are spending part of his furlough with his parents Mr and Mrs. Vern Allred, and his three brothers in Roosevelt They will divide their time between be-tween here and Ogden, Mrs All-red All-red s home. They will return June 18. S; JF- Pritchett and Mr and Mrs. Franklee Pritchett and daughter, Susan, of Mt. Pleasant arrived last Friday to visit with Mr and Mrs. Lynn Poulsen and family. Mrs. J. F. Mrs. Richard Adams and Mrs. Herb Snyder, of Vernal, returned return-ed to their respective homes Monday after spending the past two weeks in San Diego, California, Cal-ifornia, with their daughter and son, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Snyder. Leslie Beardall, who has been stationed with the U. S. Air Force, returned from Korea six weeks ago, and upon his return reported to San Antone, Texas, where he received his discharge. Mr. and Mrs. Beardall and their two children, who made their home in Fort Duchesni prior to Mr. Beardall's entry into the Air Force, will return to Fort Duchesne, where Mr. Beardall will be employed with the Indian Service. Mr. Beardall is Mrs. John Swenson's brother. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Laris and Louis Rawlings returned Saturday, Satur-day, June 7, from a week's visit vis-it in Lava Springs, Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Laris, accompanied by Mrs. LaRue Laris and daughter, Lorraine, left Wednesday for a vacation trip to Portland, Oregon, Ore-gon, and down the coast to Sar. Francisco. From there LaRue Laris and Lorraine will go to Los Angeles for a 10-day visit and to attend the wedding of a relative. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Poulsen and daughters, Kay and Nanette, motored to Salt Lake City Sunday, Sun-day, where Mr. Poulsen attended attend-ed a meeting of Safeway managers. man-agers. Mrs. Lon Logan, Mrs. Parley Rawlings, Mrs. J. V. McLea and Mrs. J. O. Orser were delegates to the B P W convention held at Brigham City last Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Mrs. C. Jean Shonka, of Brigham City, was elected the new state president. presi-dent. National representative in attendance was Beatrice Patterson, Patter-son, of New York. Mr. and Mrs. Les Mullins and son, Chad, arrived last Saturday Satur-day to spend several days with friends and relatives in Roosevelt. Roos-evelt. They are now residing in Salt Lake City after having spent the winter in Phoenix, Arizona. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Whitlock returned home Sunday after vacationing va-cationing in southern California for two weeks. Mrs. Peggy McArthur and son, Gregory, of Salt Lake City, have been visiting the past three weeks at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack McArthur. While here they celebrated Gregory's first birthday. Linda McArthur returned re-turned home with them for a visit. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Malin, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Weiss and Mr. and Mrs. Les Mullins. who aiis visiting heire from Salt Lake City, enjoyed a dinner at Steve and Ned's Cafe Monday evening. Dr. and Mrs. Vernon L. Stevenson, Stev-enson, of Salt Lake City, were guests during the week of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Malin. Mrs. Robert Montgomery and children drove to Salt Lake last Friday. Mr. Montgomery joined them Wednesday to attend the bankers convention in Grand Canyon. Mrs. Wesley Dickerson and children returned home last Friday from Provo, where they had visited for a week. They were accompanied by her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Farr, who visited here several days before returning to their home in Provo. Mrs. Catherine Hall Olson and son, Brent, have been visiting vis-iting at the home of her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. Heber T. Hall. Mr. Olson joined his family fam-ily here this week. They have resided in Boston and Washington, Washing-ton, D. C, for the past two years. The Heber T. Halls are elated I grandparents over the arrival I of a new grandson, born June 3 to Mr. and Mrs. Heber T. Hall, Jr., of Salt Lake City. The new arrival's brother, Craig, who has been spending the past two weeks with his grandparents, is anxious to get home and view his new baby brother. Leaving Tuesday morning to attend a two-day P T A convention conven-tion in Provo were Mrs. Cliff Memmott, Roosevelt P T A president; pres-ident; Mrs. Clem Labrum, vice-president; vice-president; Mrs. Hank Swain, secretary - treasurer; and Mrs. Elmer Eldredge, delegate. Salt Lake City business visitors vis-itors last Friday were Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Harmston. I Mrs. Paul Stringham and children chil-dren returned home Sunday after af-ter spending nearly three weeks visiting relatives in Madison, Wisconsin. Dr. Stringham met them in Salt Lake Saturday night. |
