Show Wkiteiocks Verna Hoopes Will Our Roads Stay On Top? People in and around White-rocks White-rocks are beginning to wonder how much longer they will be . able to travel the local roads. In several places to the south and east the water is running over the roads and some bridges are in danger of being washed out and undermined. Ray Houston is taking the milk from north and east of Whiterocks until the situation clears up. Elbert Smith made a trip to Salt Lake during the week, taking a group of Primary girls from Tridell. His son, Orion, accompanied him. Rev. Bishop S. Watson, of Salt Lake City, was an overnight guest last week at the home of Father and Mrs. Joseph Hogben. Mrs. Nora Christensen spent last week in Price, where she attended a cooks' institute at Carbon College. Mrs. Cordelia Francis has gone to Uinta Canyon to work for Bob Davis for the summer. Mr. and Mrs. Donald Rasmus-1 Rasmus-1 sen and daughter, Glenna, were 1 weekend guests at the home of I Mr. and Mrs. Marinus Christensen. Christen-sen. Mr. and Mrs. Dea Brough, ! of Roosevelt, visited Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Brough last Tuesday evening. Dalas Murray left Saturday for Corvalis, Oregon, to visit his brother, Howard, who is attending attend-ing school there. They will return re-turn home together. Mr. and Mrs. Art Rasmussen and family, of Green River, visited Mr. and Mrs. Paul Robb recently. Mr. and Mrs. Loren Pike are the proud parents of a baby boy. The tot was blessed Sunday, June 1, by its grandfather,. J. O. Hoopes, and named Clifford L. He was honored Monday at a shower at the home of Mrs. Bill Hoopes, at which he received many lovely gifts. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Chamber-lin Chamber-lin have gone to Noti, Oregon. Mrs. Chamberlin will remain there with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Montgomery. A telephone tele-phone call from Mr. Chamberlin Chamber-lin reported that Mrs Chamberlin Chamber-lin had stood the trip well. Bob and Nancy Marimon arrived ar-rived home Monday evening to spend their summer vacations with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Marimon. Nancy has been visiting her brother in California Cal-ifornia since her graduation from Wasatch Academy on May 26. Clinton Betts- was taken to the hospital Saturday. He is reported 'to have tick fever. Mrs. Alberta Branch and daughters, Betty and Margaret, arrived Sunday from Salt Lake City to visit; with Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hoopes and with her son Richard, who is staying at the Hoopes' home. Mr. and Mrs. Jones, of Vernal, visited Sunday chifrch services. They are to be missionaries in this area. ' Mr. and Mrs. Terry Goulding left Sunday for Duchesne.. Jerrie Griffin spent the weekend week-end at home: She is a student nurse at St. Marks Hospital in Salt Lake. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Griffin had gone to Salt Lake and she returned wtih them. Mr. and Mrs. Al Betts returned re-turned Sunday from their trio and Mr. and Mrs L. J. Langly, of Clairmore, Oklahoma, returned re-turned to visit with them. |
