Show Randlett Viola Jensen Relief Society Has A Birthday The Relief Society held their annual '.'17h of March" party Thursday evening. Mrs. Ma'rion Taylor ' announced the' following program: : songs ' by Caifma Pickup, Reah Pickup accompanied af the plaho; reading, " Lydia BrQugh; songs' by' Edgar and Betty Jensen, with' Mrj Jensen accompanying on the; guitar ; jokes, Carol Lewis; tap dancing, "The Four Farmerettes," Farmer-ettes," Shirley $hd Pauline Pickup, Pick-up, Donna Land, "and Janet Brugh with" Mrs. Eugenia Pickup paying the piano for them. Jensen and daughters, Irene and Joyce, spent Monday evening visiting in Roosevelt Roose-velt at the Norton Shelton home. Class leader Hannah Harris preT sented a very interesting lesson Tuesday in Relief Society. After meeting some of the ladies quilted. Mariner McMuIlen presented the lesson Tuesday evening in the Special Interest group, as the teacher, Hazel Wardle, was ill and unable to attend. Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Lewis and family were Vernal visitors Wednesday. Mrs. Lori Lee Peay is employed in Vernal at the Seven-Eleven Cafe, Mrs. Marian. Shelton and son, Duane, were visitors Wednesday at the home of- hex. parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Jensen. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Chandler and family were Vernal visitors Thursday. Morton Chandler and Carolyn and Jay Ross attended the basketball basket-ball tournament at Provo. Miss Helen Stevens, the school nurse, was- a visitor Thursday at the Avalon School to give shots. Velma Pickup, Diane Taylor and Loye Harris and Quint Pickup attended at-tended the basketball, tournament in Provo. Mrs. Leona Taylor was taken to the Roosevelt Hospital Thurs- . day evening. She will be able to come home Sunday evening. LOCAL BTA MET ON FRIDAY EVENING A special P-TA meeting was held Friday evening at the Avalon School house. President Edgar Jensen conducted the meeting. The nominating committee elected were:. Ethel Durfee, Stanley Nebe-ker Nebe-ker and Robert Marshall. Other business was discussed by Principal Prin-cipal Jess Hullinger. Dr. Lurine Allen gave a very interesting talk on "Sex Education." Dr. Allen's husband, Jess Allen, was a guest. Mr. and Mrs. N. A. Naylor were weekend visitors at the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and. Mrs. JRalph Taylor. Mr. Taylor's Tay-lor's mother, Mrs. Josephine Taylor, Tay-lor, was also a visitor. Albert Harris is a patient at the Uintah Basin Hospital. Miss Delsa Durfee spent the weekend visiting at the home of her parents, Bishop and Mrs. Ralph Durfee. ' Grant Jarman, a student at Carbon Car-bon College, spent the weekend visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Franklin L. Jarman. A group of M Men and Gleaner Girls met Saturday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Lewis to plan a dance to raise funds for the M Men basketball suits. Relief Society officers and teachers attending Relief Society Union meeting Sunday in Roosevelt Roose-velt were: Ivy Chandler, Hazel Wardle, Ada Pickup, Lula Dudley, Carol' Lewis, Sylvia Foster and stake leader, Venice Durfee.
