NEOLA Lecta Horrocks Reunion & Party Mark Birthday March 17th marked the anniversary anni-versary celebration of the Relief Society and also the reunion of the Neola ward. During the afternoon af-ternoon an entertainment was provided pro-vided for the children, consisting of four short movies and a dinner. The evening's festivities commenced commen-ced with a dinner in the Relief Society rooms, followed by a program pro-gram in the chapel. At the conclusion, con-clusion, the same movies were shown to the adults. Approximately Approximate-ly three hundred and fifty persons attended during the day. Among those who attended the ward reunion from other localities locali-ties were the following: Mr. and Mrs. Rex Gardner and Mrs. Ray Jensen, of Vernal; Mr. and Mrs. Rex Taylor and Mrs. Dawn Huber, Lapoint; Mr. and Mrs. Seth Asay, Mrs. Max Gardner, Mrs. Alta Kimball, Kim-ball, Mrs. Ruth Sprouse, Mr. and Mrs. Max Todd, Mr. and Mrs. Corwin Labrum, Roosevelt; Mr. and Mrs. G. B. Workman and Mrs. Jerry Powell of Duchesne. GETS ASSIGNMENT Word has been received by Mr. and Mrs. Ferris Henrie that their son, Gerald, has begun his work in the Texas-Louisiana mission. APO 7 San Francisco, Calif. RETURN FROM TRIP Mr. and Mrs. Theron Horrocks returned home" last Sunday after spending the past week in Calif. Enroute they visited in Reno, Nev. with Ray Horocks, who is employed em-ployed in the orchestra at Riverside River-side Hotel. From there they journeyed jour-neyed to San Francisco; then followed fol-lowed the coastal highway to San Diego, where a few days were spent with their son and his family fam-ily Lt. j.g. Jay B. Horrocks. The return trip was by way of Riverside River-side and - Las Vegas. Others enjoying en-joying the trip were Mr. and Mrs. Mirl F. Jenings and two children, of Roosevelt. Clive Worthen, of Price, was a visitor at the Lee Jensen home last Tuesday. He was a companion compan-ion of Mr. Jensen during their service in the armed forces. SPECIAL PROGRAM Special Sunday evening services were conducted last Sunday under the direction of the Relief Society. Speakers included Geneva Whiting, Whit-ing, Delma Bastian, Bishop Richard Rich-ard Olsen and Mrs. Owen Bur-gener Bur-gener of the stake board. Two numbers were presented by the Singing Mothers. Mr. and Mrs. Dutson, of Leamington, Leam-ington, visited here last week with their son, Merrill Dutson. The March meeting of the Neola P-TA was held last Monday evening eve-ning in the school building. New officers for next year were elected as follows: President, Freida Phillips; Phil-lips; first vice - president, Orvil Brown; second vice-president position po-sition will automatically be held by the school principal; secretary, Leland Peterson. Mrs. Elmer Yergensen and Mrs. Charles Edwards presented a skit on the P-TA magazine. The banner and book-of-the-month was awarded to Mrs. Zora Gardner's room. |
