Show Two Divisions In Parade At Fair September 5 Two divisions of entries, a senior and miniature division, will be featured in the parade at the Duchesne County Fair. Saturday, Sept. 5, reports Lowell Low-ell G. Coleman, parade committee commit-tee chairman. Separate prizes will be given for each division, and points of judging1 will differ. Originality, beauty and effort of workmanship workman-ship for construction, are the basis for judging the senior division di-vision Prizes in this division for float entries will be $25 for first place, $15 for second, and $10 for third. In the minature division, the basis of judging and the prizes are $10 for the prettiest float, and $10 for the float adjudged the greatest in originality or humor. Four floats to be entered in the parade will not be considered consid-ered in the competition for prizes. They are entries by the Commercial Bank of Utah, Kohl's Market, Duchesne; "Miss Duchesne County," and "Miss U.B.I. C." These floats are classed as commercial work. Entries listed so far include floats in both divisions from the Tabiona-Hanna area, Altamont-Mt. Altamont-Mt. Emmons area and other "Upper Country" communities. Roosevelt and Duchesne. Judges will be selected from various communities of the county. Three bands will be featured in the parade. They are the school bands from Tabiona, Al-tamont Al-tamont and Duchesne. The parade is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on the final day of the three-day County Fair. Lineup for the parade will be at the Duchesne High School at 12:30 p.m. Parade route is down Main Street east to Church street, thence around the block back to Highway 40, thence down the Highway to the high school ground to disband. No parking will be allowed on either side of the street in the block between the post office of-fice corner and the Duchesne Motor during parade time. Parade officials state that from the interest shown and reports re-ports of entries being prepared, that the 1953 parade at the County Fair promises to be the best ever presented in Duchesne |
