Doable Ring Rites Unite Couple In Temple Ceremony I An impressive double ring ceremony in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on Tuesday, Aug. 18th, united in marriage Miss Verna Jeanne Freston, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Freston, and Mr. Coy Lee Durfee, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Durfee. of Leota. President Robert D. Young performed per-formed the ceremony. They i were accompanied through the I temple by Mr. and Mrs. Wen-' Wen-' dell Freston, of Roosevelt. A wedding reception and dance feted the newlyweds the following evening, Aug. 19th, at the Roosevelt stake house, with approximately two hundred hun-dred guests attending to offer congratulations to the " bride and groom. The bride wore a gown of traditional white , satin with metalic lace top, styled with a becoming stand-up collar and long sleeves, tapering to a point i at the wrist. Her finger-tip veil was caught to a tiara of seed pearls and sequins. She wore I a corsage of orchids. , . I Greeting guests in the re- l7 " ceiving line with the newly married mar-ried couple were her attendants, Mrs. Norman D. Clark, her sister, sis-ter, who was attired in a navy blue taffeta formal with pink dots; and Miss Delsa Durfee, who chose a navy crepe dress. Mrs. Clark's corsage was of white gardenias and pink gladioli glad-ioli and Miss Durfee's of yellow gladioli and a white gradenia. Parents of the newlyweds were also in the receiving line, mother of the bride wearing a beige crepe afternoon dress and pink rose and white carnation corsage, and the groom's mother moth-er a turquoise crepe dress, with a corsage of red roses and white carnations. Performing best man duties was Quentin Pickup of Leota. Signing of the guest book was under the direction of Mrs. Marion Bowman, who graciously gracious-ly welcomed the guests. A lovely love-ly arrangement of white gladioli glad-ioli adorned the guest book table. Gift room arrangements were in charge of Mrs. C. A. Curtis, of Copperton, aunt of the bride, assisted by Mrs. Dee Jenkins, Mrs. Dorrant Freston. Mrs. Lee Jenkins and Mrs. Orin Richins. Mrs. Wendell Freston and Mrs. Boyd Freston assumed serving ser-ving responsibilities, assisted by Miss Marilyn Anderson, Miss Glenda Walker and Miss Konna Mar Jenkins. A green and white color scheme prevailed in refreshments refresh-ments and decorations. An Italian Ital-ian cutwork cloth covered the serving table, which was centered center-ed with a beautiful three-tiered wedding cake, topped with the traditional bride and groom and having yellow daisies interwoven inter-woven with lace at the base. Mrs. Bert Burgess made the wedding cake. Profusions of sweetpeas, roses and gladioli were arranged throughout the rooms under the direction of Mrs. Marion Harrison. Harri-son. Melvin Peterson acted as master mas-ter of ceremonies for the pro'-', gram which progressed as follows: fol-lows: girls' trio, Carol Todd, Glenda Walker and Nadine Ot-tosen, Ot-tosen, accompanied by Miss Joanne Todd; reading, Renae Eldredge; duet, Mr. and Mrs. Dwain Buchanan, accompanied by Mrs. Melvin Peterson; accordion accor-dion solo, ' Miss Lila Horrocks; vocal solo, Marion Harrison, accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Harrison; and responses from the bride and groom. Dancing followed to the music of Pat Markey's orchestra. The newlyweds are making their home in Roosevelt at the Ray Kimball apartment. Mr. Durfee is employed by the Mc-Kinlay Mc-Kinlay Motor Company. |
