Show Reception Held The wedding reception of Mr. and Mrs. Don Killian held in the Ballard chapel on Friday night was a decided success. A large crowd was in attendance. There was a good program, dainty refreshments and the bride and groom received some lovely gifts. Mrs. Killian was the former Marilyn Brighton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Brighton. Mrs. Lynn Rasmussen and baby, of Austin, Texas, has been visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ferrell Rasmussen. Lynn Rasmussen is in the armed forces for-ces and has been stationed in Texas for some time. Mrs. Charles Bingham was an overnight guest at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Holmes at Neola last Monday night. She accompanied the Holmes on the L.D.S. Temple excursion. Mr. and Mrs. Karl Shisler and daughter attended stake conference con-ference at Duchesne on Sunday, Aug. 16. At this writing Cecil Jenkins is in Salt Lake City with his mother, Mrs. Pearl Jenkins, who has had another bad attack at-tack of gall stones. Last word from them indicated she was going to undergo an operation.- Mr. and Mrs. Hacking, from Provo, were visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Hullinger while on a business trip to Roosevelt. Mr and Mrs. Rulon Neilson and family, of Richfield, were guests at the home of Mrs. Neil-son's Neil-son's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Squire, sev. eral days last week. Wendel Johnson went to Provo on Thursday to attend a Seminary convention. His wife and children spent the week in Salt Lake City at the home of Mr. Johnson's mother, Mrs. Zina Pearce. Ensign Clark, of Salt Lake City, spent the weekend with friends in Ballard. Dr. A. Reed Morrill, of Provo, and his son. Reed, who has completed com-pleted a foreign mission, and will now enter the armed services, ser-vices, visited with old friends in Roosevelt and vicinity on Saturday. Mr. Morrill and wife are both instructors at the BYU. A farewell party was given last week for Boyd Goodrich, who entered the Mission Home in Salt Lake City, Aug. 19. Mr. Goodrich will labor as an L.D.S. missionary in the North-Central States. Mr. Goodrich was ' a teacher at Alterra last year and made many friends in our community. com-munity. Mrs. Reta Cummings, of California, Cal-ifornia, was a recent visitor at the home of her brother, Ned Gines, and family. Fast Day exercises will be held Aug. 30 instead of Sept. 6, as that day the Roosevelt Stake Conference will be held. The Roosevelt stake presidency, presiden-cy, Hollis Hullinger, Russel Todd and Clifford Drollinger, were visitors at Sunday School on Sunday. We were all pleased to' see that Lelarid Angus was able to be out and around even on crutches, after the car accident he was in. Mr. and Mrs. John H. Cook motored to Provo one day last week to attend a Nuttal family reunion. . - Mrs. Edith Allred, of Vernal, attended the wedding reception of Mr. and Mrs. Don Killian on Friday evening. |
