Show Each Has Sponsor Thirteen Beauties Vie In Annual "Miss Duchesne County" Contest " Thirteen beautiful young i ladies have entered the '.'Miss I Duchesne County" contest, i which will be the opening event) of the Duchesne County Fair next Thursday, Sept. 3. at 8 p.m. at the Duchesne LDS Stake House. In vieing for the honor of "Miss Duchesne County" and her two attendants, the contestants contest-ants will appear in formal dress, present a talent number, and later appear in bathing suits, to be judged on personality, talent and beauty of face and figure. According to Mrs. Robert Montgomery, ..chairman of the contest, the following entries have been made, and their respective re-spective sponsors are as follows: Faye Robinson of Myton, sponsored spon-sored by The Commercial Bank of Utah; Marilyn Anderson, of Roosevelt, Socialette Club; Alice Bell Smith, Myton, American Legion Auxiliary of Myton; Darlene Smith, Myton, Myton Lions Club; Peggy Oldroyd. of Roosevelt, Uintah Basin Record and Roosevelt Standard; Elaine McKenna, Roosevelt. Altrus Club; Janice Anderton, Roose- velt, BPW Club; Nadene Otto-sen, Otto-sen, Roosevelt, Roosevelt Lions Club; Esther Wogec, Roosevelt, Roosevelt Kiwanis Club; Yvonne Fretwell, Roosevelt, Junior Culture Cul-ture Club; LeeRaye Drollinger, Ioka, Kiwanianns; Lois Sadler, Altamont, Variety Art Club, and Janet Stevens, Roosevelt, Roosevelt Roos-evelt and Uinta Theatres. Pictures of the last two contestants con-testants were unavailable for this week. Growing in popularity each year is the "Miss Duchesne" contest, which affords every girl in the county of eligible age and having a talent, the opportunity of competing in this annual event, first prize for which will be the chance to compete in the "Miss Utah" contest con-test at the State Fair from Sept. 16 to Sept. 19, when she will be a guest of the Fair Board during that time. Corsages for all the contestants contest-ants will be presented by the Commercial Bank of Utah, and made by the Landscape Floral. Committee assisting Mrs Montgomery includes Mrs. J. V. McLea, Mrs. Howard Harrison Harri-son and Mrs. Cliff Memmott. |
